Total Commander is a shareware file manager for Windows that expands on Windows Explorer by adding useful features such as a side-by-side windows display, enhanced search capabilities, file compare and synchronization features, a quick view panel with bitmap display, automatic file compression handling (ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE, and more), a built-in FTP client with FXP (server to server) and HTTP proxy support, support for a variety of languages, a multi-file batch rename tool, a tabbed interface, support for regular expressions, and much more.
Unfortunately, a rather homely interface mars the overall effect of what is an otherwise handy add-on for Windows.
