mIRC is an extremely popular shareware IRC client with well-deserved fame — it is definitely one of the easiest IRC apps to get up and running with. mIRC also includes an extremely helpful Internet Relay Chat Primer (a must-have for all novice IRC users) and implements nearly every IRC2 command imaginable (perhaps even every IRC2 command by now). mIRC also includes built-in timer and finger clients, as well as colored text support for making it easier to differentiate between (and ignore routine) events.
