e-Mail Notify was the first background mail client created specifically for Windows 95. Since its initial release, versions have also been made available for Windows 3.x (16-bit and with Win32s) and NT (3.x and 4.x). Like other background mail clients, e-Mail Notify checks your host for mail at scheduled intervals.

While no longer supported or developed by its author, E-Mail Notify remains unique from other background clients in that it also downloads and displays the headers for all messages you receive. It's also unique in that it works entirely from within the windows traybar when used on Windows 9x/NT/XP systems.
