The Bat! is a simple yet powerful mail client that offers an abundance of advanced features for experts coupled with an easy to use interface for novices. While the interface won't win any awards for elegance, its simplified layout presents a minimal learning curve for new users and offers just enough customization capabilities to keep more advanced users satisfied.

If everyone based their preference for a mail client on appearance alone, The Bat! would be bypassed more often than not in favor of a client with a more appealing interface like Outlook Express or Eudora. If you did so, though, you'd be making a big mistake as The Bat's feature-set holds its own against the best of the bunch, even rivaling a number of the big dogs in several areas.
