GlobalScape has also introduced a professional-grade edition of CuteFTP that it markets as CuteFTP Pro. The $59.99 product adds state-of-the-art security standards to help ensure the safety of critical business data. CuteFTP Pro makes it possible to maximize bandwidth throughput, download from multiple sites while uploading or browsing, automatically update web content, and customize data management processes all in one cost-effective application.
Additionally, CuteFTP provides SSH2 (Secure Shell - SFTP) and OTP (S/Key) support, the ability to connect via HTTP/HTTPS, transfer integrity (CRC Checksum) capabilities, and advanced management features such as folder comparison, folder synchronization, site backup and archival, script/macro recording and playback, and custom commands.
CuteFTP Server
A new addition to the CuteFTP product line is a companion server for the CuteFTP Home and CuteFTP Pro clients. The $50 persoanl-use FTP server is built on the enterprise-class Secure FTP Server from Globalscape, and combines a strong feature-set with excellent reliability.
CuteFTP Server can be used for efficiently sharing collections of music, images, or video files with friends. The server can also be helpful in performing web-site maintenance and accessing file systems and FTP services remotely.
Overall
Taking all of these changes and improvements into account, CuteFTP remains an excellent app that, while lacking some of the more advanced features found in newer FTP clients like FTP Voyager and FTP Control, continues to offer one of the most extensive feature-sets currently available as well as an interface that is second to none in terms of ease of use.
Pros: Ultra-secure SSL technology, commercial grade version of CuteFTP Home will fit SMBs better
Cons: Expensive, doesn't offer much beyond CuteFTP Home edition (other than security enhancements)
