Kermit for Windows
The Frog Does Windows
Forrest Stroud

First developed at Columbia University and still managed under the Kermit Project there, Kermit 95 for Windows is an extensible, multipurpose program that utilizes the Kermit file transfer protocol for powerful and flexible file transfer and management. Kermit 95 offers support for a multitude of internet protocols and security measures, including telnet, FTP, and HTTP protocols, with available Secure Shell (SSH), Kerberos IV/V, SSL, TLS, SSH, and SRP security support.

Terminal emulation options include VT100, VT220, VT320, ANSI, HP, IBM, Linux Console, Sun Console, QNX, AT386, SCO ANSI, SNI 97801, Televideo, Wyse, and many others. Kermit 95 also includes a built-in cross-platform script programming language that enables the user to automated the program's many functions.

Kermit can be evaluated free of charge for up to 21 days in both cryptographic and non-cryptographic versions. While a standard telnet client will suffice in many cases, Kermit offers a nice change of pace for casual users and incorporates enough features, functionality, and security to satisfy the more advanced users.
