RSS Round-up: FeedReader and SharpReader Overall Forrest
Overall
Of the two readers, we found FeedReader to be a solid choice for newcomers to the RSS scene as well as those looking for a quick and efficient RSS aggregator. SharpReader offers several advanced features that FeedReader currently lacks, namely filtering and threading capabilities, making it the RSS tool of choice for the more experienced RSS user.
So what can we expect the future to bring for the RSS scene? With both the quantity and quality of RSS feeds improving by the day, it's a given that this technology will only become more and more popular. Still, while RSS has only just begun to scratch the surface of its full potential, we predict it will be quite some time – if it ever happens at all – before RSS feeds join the ranks of web pages and email messages as the daily bread and butter of the Internet.
Pros: Solid feature-set, freeware, easy to use, built-in list of RSS syndicators for listing available RSS feeds
Cons: Lacks some of the more advanced features of SharpReader, including threading and filtering capabilities
