NetOp Remote Control 7.65: Support Tool or Trade Secret?
Getting the Job Done
Mike Houghton

Getting the Job Done

With a variety of unique and useful tools, the NetOp guest user (or support person) has no problem handling whatever job needs to be done remotely. From a global support perspective, NetOp also has language support for English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese languages as well as a host of OSes, including Windows CE, Linux, Solaris, Symbian, and others — making NetOp a particularly useful option when standardizing on a global level.

NetOp clearly offers more options than its competitors. This led me to wonder why I was only just now testing the application for the first time. After thinking that perhaps I had been living under a rock for the past few years, I felt compelled to ask some of my colleagues if they had ever used it.

I felt a little better after learning they had never heard of it either. I'm still at a loss as to why it's not a more popular product — unless everyone else who is using it today considers it a corporate trade secret. I did notice a few large government-type firms listed on their list of customers. Needless to say, after testing this application our organization is going to purchase additional licenses and move forward with getting it out to a select group of guest machines.

About Danware

Danware Data A/S licenses NetOp Remote Control as well as NetOp School, a remote control-based teaching program that features the ability to monitor and assist students in a real-time, computer-based learning environment.

For larger corporations, organizations, and educational institutions, NetOp can be purchased directly from CrossTec. CrossTec also provides sales and support through a network of authorized resellers.

If you're in need of a comprehensive and highly functional remote tool set, then you will definitely want to take a close look at NetOp Remote Control v7.65.

Pros: Extremely useful and secure remote utility, easy to install and use, unique and helpful tools, attention to security

Cons: Relatively expensive; simplistic, Spartan interface
