Netscape SmartDownload is a new plug-in from Netscape that is designed to facilitate the file download process for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT users of Netscape (versions 3.x and later).
Critical features in SmartDownload include the ability to pause and resume downloads, automatic recovery from dropped Internet connections, a more informative download status window, and SmartDownload Profiling which can send you customized information about the file you are downloading (the file must have a special extension, IDP, in order for this feature to work).
