Steganos offers a combination of technologies for protecting your data: Cryptography (via HWY1 encryption) for encrypting files and thereby making the data unreadable by anyone who does not know the password, and Steganography for hiding the existence of encrypted data. With your critical data hidden in another file -- an image or text file, for example -- anyone snooping around your hard drive will be unaware of the presence of sensitive data.
