Microsoft IntelliPoint The Power of Universal Scrolling Forrest Stroud
The Power of Universal Scrolling
Universal Scrolling allows the wheel scrolling feature to work with all applications, as opposed to only those apps that specifically support IntelliMouse (i.e. Microsoft applications, Netscape Navigator, etc.) While the number of apps that support IntelliMouse has grown considerably, if you use Quicken or similar third-party software programs that don't currently support IntelliPoint (v1.1), Universal Scrolling will enable the wheel scrolling feature to work with these apps as well.
The upgrade also allows you to add exceptions to the Universal Scrolling for applications that you don't want to use wheel scrolling for (Macromedia Director, Microsoft Project, Fractal Design Painter, and three other applications are turned off by default). Another new feature in the upgrade is a configuration option for setting up the scrolling feature to scroll a given number of lines or a page at a time each time the wheel is moved.
