Office 97 Service Release 2
The second set of service releases (SR-2 and SR-2b) add fewer enhancements than the initial one, but what they lack in new features is more than made up for in bug fixes (check out the complete list here). SR-2 and SR-2b require that the first service release (SR-1) already be installed.
To determine whether you have previously installed SR-1, first click on the About button on the Help menu in any Office 97 application and then look for "SR-1" after the application name at the top of the dialog box. For example, when using Word, you will see "Microsoft Word 97 SR-1" if you have already installed SR-1. If you don't see it, you can download the 9 MB file here.
SR-2b is currently available for the English version of Office 97 as well as for a variety of International versions. (The International versions can be downloaded on the SR-2 International Releases Page.)
