Overall, WinPack is a very solid compression utility that offers a rich selection of features nearly on the same level as WinZip. WinPack Deluxe is also slightly less expensive than WinZip ($20 compared to $29). If you're looking for an alternative to one of the more popular compression tools -- and if WinPack's uncertain future support and development doesn't give you much concern -- why not give WinPack a spin?
Pros: Rich selection of features, tons of compression types supported, quick file viewing
Cons: Not as intuitive as ZipMagic, showing some significant age — no updates in many years, and features lag behind competing offerings; no longer supported or under development
