Photoshop 6 debuted late last year, but a trial release of the upgrade wasn't made available until mid-February of 2001. The new release of Photoshop offers impressive additions like editable support for vector shapes and text, an updated ImageReady 3 client, new Image Slice tools with support for dynamic layer-based slices, and a new Layer Styles feature for managing layer effects.
The list of new features continues with weighted optimization controls for more effectively compressing images, a new Liquify command for warping images, advanced PDF output options, enhanced layer management, expanded text features, and a new Preset Manager for centralizing management of your custom brushes, gradients, shapes, contours, patterns, and layer styles.
