Firehand Ember excels in one of the Internet's most competitive software categories, and while it may not be the best solution for all of your image manipulation needs, you would be hard-pressed to find another graphics viewer that is faster or easier to use. The only equivalent tool we've come across is the freeware Irfan View, which obviously competes well on a cost basis but does lack some of Firehand Ember 2000's more advanced screensaver and slideshow capabilities.
Pros: Lightning quick image viewing, excellent integration with other applications
Cons: Expensive relative to Irfan View and PolyView, minimal configuration options
