Lightning Quick Image Viewing of Multiple Directories
Next to ease of use and abundance of features, Firehand Ember's strongest suit may be its lightning quick image viewing capabilities. Ember displays thumbnails for a directory of images faster than any other image viewer we've tested to date. It's equally fast when switching between different thumbnail sizes or changing the spacing between thumbnails via two separate slide controls on the main toolbar.
Ember's multiple document interface enables the user to open several directories of images at once, which means you can view multiple images from different directories at the same time. Each directory displays thumbnails in its own window, and you can easily move or copy images between directories by simply dragging and dropping the thumbnails from one window to another.
The image file manager also offers a variety of basic editing capabilities for making minor changes to your graphics. These tools include rotation controls, a color depth selector, four special effects (pencil drawing, edge tracing, color inversion, and grayscale conversion), and several touch-up tools for making changes to the image's saturation, color balance, contrast, smoothness, sharpness, and brightness.
