07.21.00. The "Malformed E-mail Header", "Persistent Mail-Browser Link", and "Cache Bypass" patches each address a security vulnerability present in Microsoft Outlook and/or Outlook Express. Outlook Express 4.0, 4.01, 5.0, and 5.01 are affected by all three vulnerabilities, while Microsoft Outlook 97 , Outlook 98, and Outlook 2000 are affected by the first and third vulnerabilities. All three vulnerabilities can be eliminated by downloading Outlook Express 5.5, which is included in both the Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 and Internet Explorer 5.5 downloads. Additionally, a software patch is available for customers who choose not to upgrade to OE 5.5.
