InterQuick Review Additional InterQuick Features Forrest Stroud
Additional InterQuick Features
DNS Caching is another feature in InterQuick that assists in accelerating Web requests. IQ stores and maintains an extensive list of domain names and their IP addresses, which reduces the need to contact a Domain Name Server for a site's IP address (12.20.180.138 for example) each time you type in its named address (cws.internet.com for example). Only when you type in a domain name that is not in the InterQuick database does the client need to obtain the IP address over the Internet.
Additional features in InterQuick include an IQadmin tool for managing IQ, IQstore for configuring the InterQuick cache, remote configuration capabilities, multi-threaded downloads and configurable levels of link depth when pre-fetching content, an Ad Database that recognizes a number of Web sites and contains information on which images should be displayed and which should be filtered out (those that are advertisements) for the sites, a content blocking option that will restrict access to all sites except those specified as "approved sites", and multiple configuration options for each of the InterQuick tools.
