HyperCam
HyperCam Features and Performance

HyperCam Features and Performance

Features in HyperCam include area panning using your mouse, region and window selection options, Windows traybar icon support, frame rate control (for recording and for playback), frame compression options, the ability to capture in any screen color depth, automatic video compression selection (or choose from one of eight compression options, including codecs from Vivo, Intel Indeo, Cinepak, Microsoft Video, and MPEG-4), audio sample size and rate options, hot keys (for starting, pausing, and stopping recording as well as for snapping single frames), and key frame options.

As far as performance goes, HyperCam really only performs as well as your machine does. With a Pentium 133 or better, HyperCam is able to capture up to 10 frames per second of full screen (640x480) action in 8-bit (256) color mode. Obviously, the better your machine is or the smaller the size of the screen recorded, the better HyperCam's performance will be; conversely, a slower machine or trying to capture a large screen will slow HyperCam's frame rate down to a crawl.
