Windows 98 Second Edition Internet Connection Sharing Forrest Stroud
Internet Connection Sharing
There's only one major new feature in the Second Edition that isn't available for download separately. In addition to the initial release's standard support for file and printer sharing, the Second Edition introduces Internet Connection Sharing.
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) allows users with two or more networked computers to share a modem and an Internet/ISP connection. ICS supports standard analog modems as well as a wide variety of high-speed access connections, including cable modems and DSL/ADSL. ICS also features automatic network address translation and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) support.
