"Ripping" CDs with RealJukebox
The free RealJukebox application is now available as a standalone player or as an update to the RealPlayer application. Combining features of audio CD player software and MP3 player software, RealJukebox lets users organize audio CD tracks and Internet multimedia files into a single digital music library.
RealJukebox will let users extract music tracks from compact discs and save them on their hard disks as RealAudio or MP3 files. The application automatically retrieves information from CDDB, an Internet database of CD information, to display and store each disc's name and track titles.
RealJukebox will also store and play music files downloaded from the Web in formats like MP3 and WAV. A "Get Music" button in the application provides a gateway to specific Web sites such as music search engines, downloadable music sites, and online CD stores.
