With the debut of version 4.0, TextPad once again sets the standard for Text/HTML editors. This release adds critical new features to a feature-set that was already extremely impressive. Important additions in v4.0 include:
· Multiple workspaces, · Tabbed document interface, · Customizable toolbars, · Dockable document selector, · Color syntax highlighting, · Full screen mode, · Document class properties by file extension, · File locking commands, and much, much more
The new release also improves on many existing features, including enhancements to the spelling checker, to the Quick Open command, to block (column) mode selections, to the program preferences system, and to the handling of large files. Additionally, the 4 KB limit on line lengths has been removed in the new release as has the 32 KB limit on the number of word wrapped lines. Finally, version 4.0 is now available with an optional Japanese user interface with support for double byte (Asian) character sets.
