The "Microsoft Office HTML Object Tag" patch eliminates a security vulnerability that could allow a user to construct a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) file that, when read, would crash a Microsoft Office 2000 application or potentially run arbitrary or malicious code. Microsoft Word 2000, Excel 2000, and PowerPoint 2000 are affected by this vulnerability, and the patch requires Office 2000 SR-1 to be installed.
07.15.00. The "Office HTML Script" patch eliminates a security vulnerability in two Office 2000 applications (Excel and PowerPoint) as well as in PowerPoint 97. This patch also addresses a workaround for the "IE Script" vulnerability that prevents the use of Microsoft Access to exploit a vulnerability in Internet Explorer 4.01 and later.

The "Office 2000 UA Control" patch eliminates a security vulnerability in Office 2000 applications that could allow a malicious web site operator to take inappropriate action on the computer of a user who visited his web site. This is because an ActiveX control, the Office 2000 UA Control, in Office is incorrectly marked as "safe for scripting".
