Improvements and additions to the feature-set in recent updates have done their part to further elevate Eudora above and beyond the competition. The most important new feature is HTML support for composing messages with richer content, stylized text, and in-line graphics. An enhanced HTML version of Eudora Pro is also available that allows you to embed and view tables, applets, advanced graphics, and Web pages within your e-mail messages.
Another new enhancement is a MAPI utility for directly sending mail from MAPI-compliant apps. Two more important features that have been added in recent releases are a PureVoice plug-in for sending high-quality voice messages via e-mail and a PGP 5.0 plug-in for ensuring the privacy of your e-mail. There are now more than 50 additional plug-ins available for Eudora from Qualcomm's Plug-in Central.
Other critical new features in Eudora include IMAP and LDAP support, a context sensitive help system, virus protection from infected attachments (using McAfee ViruScan Internet Version), attachment compression, auto-configuration capabilities, multiple stationery for automated responses, enhanced windows management with specialized container windows, complete drag and drop support, and a new mail icon for displaying the number of new messages received.
