Master Windows NT Explorer
Start, Drag and Run
Paul Jones

Can I drag onto the run dialog box?

The Start button's Run command is drag-and-drop-compatible. That means you can open the Run command, then drag and drop a file or application onto it from My Computer or from Windows NT Explorer. The complete pathname appears in the Run dialog box, ready for you to add command line options. Or simply click OK to execute the file as is.

You can edit and alter the NT 4.0 Start menu in the same ways you edit the Windows 95 Start menu.

  1. Click the Start button, then select Settings/Taskbar. Now select the Start Menu Programs tab and browse to add new applications.

  2. You can also add items to the Start menu by dragging them from NT Explorer or My Computer and dropping them onto the Start button.
