Jazz Up Your Shortcuts
Paul Jones

How do I make my shortcuts look better?

Windows NT 4.0 has four files that contain plenty of icons to jazz up your Shortcuts. To change the icon of any Shortcut:

  1. Right-click over the Shortcut.

  2. Select Properties.

  3. Select the Shortcut tab.

  4. Click Change Icon.

  5. Click Browse.

  6. Open one of these four files from the winntsystem32 directory: shell32.dll, pifmgr.dll, moricons.dll, or progman.exe.

  7. Select an icon; then click OK.

  8. Click OK to close the Properties window.
