RealNetworks RealPlayer Plus G2 Basic Features Ben Durbin
If you are new to the RealPlayer scene you may be asking, "What's the use of RealPlayer?" Well, with RealPlayer you can view clips, whether audio or video, live or pre-recorded. You can sit and listen to the radio on your computer while surfing the internet, watch the news or catch the latest sports brief, and even watch RealFlash animations.
You can access the streamed content quicky by using the Visual Presets, Channels, or the new scanning options.
Visual Presets give you an easy, convenient way to access presets. You can look through preset stations by switching to the different categories. Examples of these categories are Alternative, Rock, Country, and so on. You can also add your currently loaded clips to the visual presets, import presets from a friend, or organize your presets however you like.
Channels are closely related to the visual presets. They give you single click access to live video content. RealPlayer Plus G2 comes loaded with a starter set of Channels, but you can add to or change the setup of these channels at any time.
Scanning Options you may find useful on those days where you just don't know what you're in the mood to listen to. RealPlayer Plus G2 has the ability to Scan Presets or to Scan Stations so you can find the clips that interest you the most that particular day. Obviously, when you Scan Presets you just scan through your already organized content, but if you use Scan Stations, RealPlayer contacts servers at RealNetworks to get a list of popular, live broadcasts on the web.
