With Outlook 98 Microsoft had a top notch e-mail client, and with Outlook 2000 it has only become stronger. Now you can create folders, rules, formatting and views that do everything from identifying junk e-mail to applying a specific colour to e-mail messages sent by a particular person. The Rules Wizard has been enhanced in Outlook 2000 and now allows you to easily establish rules that file, delete, highlight, forward or flag incoming and outgoing messages. New rules can also be applied to existing information and messages. E-mail messages can be created in HTML, RTF or plain text format; you can even switch between formats on the fly, in the middle of writing a message.
Outlook Bar
Now you can gain quick access to all your essential information from within Outlook 2000 - including files, folders or web pages. Creating a shortcut in the Outlook Bar will keep information you use most often at your fingertips. Because Outlook 2000 is HTML based, clicking on a web page shortcut will open up that web page right in the Outlook 2000 screen. No need to fire up your web browser. The menu bar across the top also automatically changes depending on whether you are viewing your inbox or a Web Page.
Send Any Office Document from Outlook 2000
With the seamless integration of Microsoft Office 2000 and Outlook 2000, you can share your work with anyone. Create messages in any Office program, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft PowerPoint. These messages are sent in HTML format, so any recipient can read them, whether or not the appropriate Office program is set up on their computer. You can also create a file in any Office program and send it as an Outlook message without leaving it.
