TurboSFX 3.10 Nothing Could Be Easier! Douglas Smith
TurboSFX is a front-end file distribution application that uses a user-friendly expanding wizard system. Intuitive step-by-step procedures compress and create impressive looking packages for software distribution and installation. TurboSFX creates packages that can easily be distributed via the Internet, Intranet, e-mail, CD-ROM or removable disks.
TurboSFX also supports HTML based Internet Component Download with automatic generation of .inf files. Unlike other Installer programs, TurboSFX does not require a programming background; nor does it require you to learn any application-specific language. TurboSFX includes functions to select components or run multiple programs before, during, and after extraction, and to take actions depending on response codes from the 'run program' selection. This version also enables the users to create 'Silent Packages', which do not display a dialog box during Installation. TurboSFX provides single and multiple password protection capabilities, including silent password protection to guard against recipients who may try to bypass your setup routines.
In-depth HELP about the powerful, yet easily accessible features is available on each screen. TurboSFX automatically saves the steps in the creation of each project, and the options selected, as a package script file (*.adx). These script files not only save the users repetitive tasks when creating other similar packages or updating the existing ones, they also support command line batch processing for unattended operation. You can create and update simple Self-Extractor and installation routines with WYSIWYG text, or include the more advanced installation routines to automate steps effortlessly at the receiver end.
Version 3.10, out now, has many new and enhanced features. 1. Integrated Wizard for creating delivery packages: Self-extracting EXEcutable, CABinet files with extractor, and cabinet files for HTML-based Internet Component Download (new package type).
2. Options to create 'Silent Packages', which do not display dialog boxes during Self-extraction.
3. Creation of multiple-volume Self-extracting EXEcutables with tools to copy packages to removable media, including diskette management functions.
4. Script file management, allowing users to create, save, and copy script files.
5. Multiple password protection feature for group distribution to selectively restrict access to particular files.
6. Create International Packages with built-in language support. Multiple language files for messages are provided, with functions to load, change, and save language files.
7. In creating cabinet files for Internet Component Download, TurboSFX automatically generates .inf files with Scan GUID. Editing of .inf files is also enabled.
8. Functions for running multiple programs before, during and after extraction, and taking actions depending on response codes from the 'Run Program'.
9. Option for Default or Customize Wizard for welcome and WYSIWYG License Agreement page before extraction.
10. Tools to send the entire package, including the entire set of multi-volume files, as e-mail attachments.
11. The new release of TurboSFX v3.10 Startup wizard (16-bit and 32-bit) adds a new screen for component selections to the Welcome and WYSIWYG License pages. This enhancement allows easy distribution of multiple files and applications. Depending on the recipient's selection, the target machine platform and the passwords entered, application components will be selectively installed.
12. The run-time Startup wizard in TurboSFX v3.10 can be customized or localized with your own product bitmaps or logos, desired international language for wizard captions, and other explanatory text.
