TurboSFX 3.10 Distributing Software Is a Snap! Douglas Smith
Software distribution is always a problem for you developers, who have nice new programs that you've just developed and need to get to your users. The problem is not only the actual distribution, but also getting all the proper files loaded onto disks, to make it transportable. As we searched the Net, we found many programs that make this process easier than the usual routine: putting the files on disk, telling the users to copy them to a new directory, and then making an icon pointing to the newly installed program.
Users are like school kids; some of them can handle this chore with little or no help, while others have be taken by the hand and taught step by step. This type of installation is just not good enough any more, with so many novice users purchasing computers. Some programs we found to automate this task were good, but many were cumbersome and really difficult to set up and use, both for developer and user. So we went to the folks that brought us TurboZIP for the answer, and what an answer we got! Pacific Gold Coast Corp. out of Locust Valley, NY made the task child’s play with TurboSFX, a great new product that lets you pop out distribution disks as fast as you can run its install wizard.
