Has anyone noticed that there are a lot of good file managers available these days to replace file manager? Well we won’t stop here without at least mentioning another good program for powerful file management chores. Helmsman Research has made available a program called Frigate, which at first thought reminds you of an ocean-going vessel with sails. Frigate is actually a powerful file manager for Windows 95/98/NT that has all the basic file commands (copy, move, delete etc.) as well as support for compressed files (ZIP, ARJ, RAR, HA, LHA, ZOO, LIMIT, HYPER). It also sports a built-in viewer for most popular graphic formats, text, rich text, and DBF files. Also included is a built-in text editor for text with syntax highlighting and rich text. Some other features include: Quick Launch, Calculator, System information, Phone Book, Alarm, Messenger and Clipboard viewer. Below is a list of Frigate’s major functions:

Frigate is a fine program that has a lot to offer in terms of file management. Keeping track of files and maintaining folders can be very time-consuming chores, but with Frigate they seem much easier. Frigate can be downloaded from Helmsman Research and will work with Windows 95/98 and NT.
