Wrox Press Beginning Visual Basic 6
The Second Bit
Karl Moore

Following an impressive tutorial and the occasional rather unfunny pun, the second section is an item I feel is missing from most good books on VB.

The latter half is packed with three case studies, each one creating a solution -- based application from start to finish. You get the challenge (ie, X needs an application that can do this) and then work through the solution, from creating the first form to adding the code.

This is the ideal way to end such a book, essentially summing up all gained knowledge in a few cleverly devised projects.

And, to round off such a great book, it ends with a summary and rather shameful plug for Wright's "Beginning Objects" book. Tut, tut. One final point:

4. All Wrox books finish with a "Where to go from here..." section, detailing what you can do to further expand your knowledge. Or more specifically, which Wrox book you should buy next!
