Wrox Press Beginning Visual Basic 6 Introduction Karl Moore
When I first entered the Visual Basic scene, tutorials on the subject were scarce. I tried everything and looked everywhere. Local bookshops held very little literature on the subject -- and what they did stock was of very poor quality. The Internet, whilst overflowing with VB project examples, didn't play host to any real tutorials.
Even the £3000 two-week Microsoft course I sat in didn't bring much joy. Don't get me wrong, we covered all the recommended topics -- but in such an annoyingly curious way that no delegate understood what the tutor really meant. Heck, he could have been speaking French. In fact, that's a very distinct possibility. But nonetheless, getting a good solid background in VB all those years ago was pretty tough.
These days, however, you only need to remember a couple of words...Wrox. Or maybe just one word. This well --reputed publisher stocks a whole host of books to "build your VB career". Every title plays one step in the path to success -- with the subject of this particular review being its foundation.
