Blossoming from such noble beginnings, HomeSite has become the tool of choice for over 200,000 web developers, and when posed with the task of reviewing it, it is not hard to see why.
With HTML 4.0 support, design views, full project uploading, link verification, spell checking, and HTML validation, what more could you ask for?
The installation procedure of the product is fairly standard, and you can have Homesite up and running within minutes of tearing open the box. Upon starting Homesite 4, I was thinking what could really have changed since version 3, what is it that could have improved?
When Homesite had loaded, it immediately threw me into producing an HTML document, having provided the bare bones of an HTML document itself. I found this refreshing, as it allowed me to start on my work right away rather than by following a set of confusing wizards.
Oddly, I wasn't immediately stunned by any new glaring interface--but when starting to use the program, I discovered that this was indeed a worthy advancement over 3.0.
