BBC Worldwide Top of the Pops Vision Mix Karl Moore
It's time to visualise your music in the Vision Mix section, where you match amazingly bright effects with your groovy dance tunes.
This area allows you to choose both foreground and background effects - anything from simple graphics to city scenes, complex cartoon animations to 3D characters to... now this is impressive!
The story-pad like mixing board that determines which foregrounds/backgrounds appear during which part of the song is a little difficult to become accustomed with at first. It's automatically populated with a series of pre-determined scenarios. You are required to create a new mix to clear the old presets. Hmmm, confusing. And although the boxed kit isn't complemented with manuals, a universal "help" button is available throughout the entire program.
The final test comes when it's time for TOTP host Jamie Theakston to play your musical disaster. You're assigned a play-list in which you can personalise the roll-out of your demo - select which hits to play and who to credit for them. Then click on the "Hit It!" button and sit back as you reach fame. Or perhaps not.
