Clicking on the animated "Hit Mix" button, the screen slides away in a futuristic fashion and I'm left with a bright mixing board. This is where you put your track together.
Just select your type of song - whether dance, pop or hip-hop - and then decide on a related audio file. You can choose from drum sounds, bass, keyboard, guitar, voice, effects and a whole bunch of others. Dozens of 'em. Collectively, there are over 1,000 different audio samples on the CD - ready for mixing in your Hit Mix station.
Putting them all together is as simple as dragging and dropping onto the 8-track mixer board. So, I snatched the "Chill Out!" lyrics from the Voice samples and placed it on track one. A wacky keyboard tune soon overlapped on track two, placing a quite different tempo on the compilation. Hmmm, perhaps my musical talents need a spot of attention... but you see how easy it can be to throw together a tune, no matter how unharmonic.
You can also record your own voice direct from a microphone - and integrate it with your song. Yeah!! Not missing a chance to warble to the world, I grab my mike and start singing the first verse of "Driving Home for Christmas"...
After creating and saving my holistic masterpiece, it's time to enter the Vision Mix zone to create an all-in-one disco effect. Look out Hollywood....
