Microsoft Windows 98 Should I Upgrade From Windows 95? Michael Hayman
Going back to the initial question asked towards the beginning of this analysis, the short answer is no. Windows 98 provides no real benefits to consumers to warrant the $89 upgrade price tag – most of the functionality is already readily available on the Web, and has been for several months. Even Laptop users will be suitably unimpressed – IE4 gobbles up even more system resources and there’s no real benefit to upgrade, even for this class of user.
Don’t believe the hype. Windows 98 offers very little value for money, and is by no stretch of the imagination an essential upgrade. If you just must install something, do yourself a favor – install Windows NT 4.0.
