InkLine Global Stay Connected 2.1 Tell Me More! Douglas Smith
Stay Connected! now allows access to choice of hosts in background at random intervals, which looks like web surfing to an ISP. (For traditionalists, there is the "classic" single-host and fixed-interval setting, as with prior Stay Connected! versions.) The new host access and interval features DON'T mean a whole batch of baffling new settings. To keep Stay Connected! simple to use, the interface has been spiffed up and a Startup Wizard added. Truth is, all the default settings work the best anyway. And for each host type, there are preloaded entries to save typing. But add host info and change settings anytime. Just choose a service type, and the hosts are pre-loaded for: HTTP, FTP, echo servers, time servers, discard servers or user-defined ports (such as POP3, IRC, gopher, and so on). There's a really good expanded Help file for setup tips, feature operation and more. Many other improvements have been added for this version. For AOL users, support for AOL Browser 4.0 and previous. You can launch the AOL browser when you activate Stay Connected!, and even have it log on for you. Many more AOL-specific features are detailed at the home page. Runs quietly in background, easily accessed from a system tray icon. Program activity can be turned on/off by clicking the tray icon, and its shape & color give operating status at a glance. A right-click on the icon presents a context menu for settings and an online status report. Stay Connected! is a reliable, RAM-efficient insurance policy for online peace of mind.
