Mehul Sampat MBX-2-HTM
MBX-2-HTM
Paul Jones

MBX-2-HTM converts Eudora mailbox (.MBX) files into nicely formatted HTML pages. And it does it fast. Wrapped in a pleasantly small zip file (359K), MBX-2-HTM even includes an installation program. It is intuitively simple to use and the interface is virtually dummy proof.

When you open MBX-2-HTM, you are presented with a window that sports two tabs labeled CONVERT and ABOUT. The CONVERT tab is already open when you start MBX-2-HTM. A quick click on the ABOUT tab displays the programmers name, email address, and two URLs where you can find "more cool stuff!"

The CONVERT tab contains two buttons labeled Step 1 and Step 2. The Step 1 button is for opening the mailbox (.mbx) file. When pressed, a dialog window appears and you can browse your hard drive for the desired file. After the file is selected, just click on the Step 2 button to convert the file to HTML. You then name the file and choose its saving destination. You can even give the new file a title at the same time. It's not rocket science.

The resulting HTML file is a single page, regardless of the mailbox file size. At the top of the page appears a list of all the senders and the subject lines of their email. Below that list starts a sequential list of the complete text of all the emails in that file. A convenient BACK TO TOP link is inserted at the end of each email and the senders' email addresses are even clickable "mailto:" tags.

Not everyone has a burning desire to convert their Eudora mailboxes into HTML pages. But if you do, this excellent freeware is the way to go.
