Cybermedia UnInstaller 4.5 How It Works Douglas Smith
When you first install UnInstaller 4.5, you are prompted by the interviewer to select what files and folders that you want to protect. By selecting certain files and folders, you eliminate any mistakes that could happen when you start cleaning files from your systems. During the interview you can also setup things like scheduling quick cleans of your system, and what type of cleanups you want to do. You will notice that the interface and packaging look very familiar to a box of detergent, great idea since it is one of the nicest UnInstaller and Cleanup utilities that we have reviewed.
After you do your installation you can click on the Update button and you will be whisked away to Oil Change and a fresh update, if newer versions are available at that time. Once you have reached any new versions, installations are done automatically for you. The choices are neatly arranged on the new interface, starting with QuickClean at the top and breaking the other buttons up into Applications, Advanced, Reports, Updates, Options, and Help. UnInstaller also comes bundled with Dr. Solomon's FindVirus software to quickly detect and remove computer viruses from hard disks, floppies and files - including Internet downloads. You will also that the help included with UnInstaller 4.5 is CyberMedia's Internet-based ActiveHelp(tm) architecture. UnInstaller 4.5 incorporates a neat feature called QuickClean, which at the click of a button, automatically clears away useless files such as temporary (TMP) files and recycle bin files. In addition, an Installation BackTrack button allows UnInstaller to monitor the installation of programs and will allow you to completely uninstall them later if needed. You can even reconstruct the original setup after poor installations of programs. We cleaned repeatedly and never had a single problem with this product, and doing away with Internet cookies, plug-ins, and ActiveX controls was a snap.
UnInstaller 4.5 is one of few uninstall utilities that will allow you to transport programs in there entirety from one machine to another, or even move programs from one drive to another with all registry entries done for you. If you are really looking to clean up things, there are advanced options such as PowerClean for deleting those hard to find files and also allowing you more control on your deletions, safely and thorough. If you need a specific amount of space, there is button called SpaceMaker, which you put in the space that you need and UnInstaller will help you find the space by a total search of your whole hard disk. You can even archive those programs that you just don't use that often!
