A number of improvements have been incorporated into the CorelDRAW 8 graphics suite:
Workspaces - personal preferences can be identified and saved in a workspace which can be called up each time the program is loaded. Almost any option in CorelDRAW 8 can be added to personal workspaces.
New Web Features - animated GIF format now supported, JPEG preview added, Bookmark Manager tracks Internet bookmarks added in CorelDRAW 8 files, WYSIWYG HTML layout with cascading style sheets, and Netscape layers
New Enhanced Import Options - users can now import multiple files into their CorelDRAW document and specify placement on the page. In addition, images can now be imported at original size or can be scaled either proportionally or without maintaining aspect ratio at import time.
Docker Windows - both CorelDRAW 8 and Corel PHOTO-PAINT 8 now feature docker windows. Any fly out or roll up menu item can be dragged and placed anywhere in the application window. When multiple windows are docked together, they become neatly grouped with tabbed pages for easy navigation. This is a very handy feature.

CorelDRAW 8 has been enhanced to offer greater usability and productivity. Object creation and editing has been streamlined and a new bitmap display features makes object placement and display much smoother. CorelDRAW 8 supports multiple levels of undo, even across file saves.
A number of areas in CorelDRAW 8 are now customizable to suit user preferences and desires. Magnification levels can now be saved in the Zoom Property Bar and custom page size options can be added to the page type list.
