Quick View Plus requires a minimum of a 486 processor, 16MB of free disk space for a minimum installation, and 17MB of free disk space for a full installation. I selected the automatic typical installation, although I could have customized the program if I wanted to. Quick View Plus will run on any Windows system from 95 up, excluding XP.
Help
There is a complete Help facility online that guides you through both the installation and use of the product. Other Help topics appear in the User's Guide and under FAQs at www.inso.com of the Inso Corporation.
Navigating Quick View Plus
The program provides a dual File Navigation pane that shows volumes and folders in the Folder Tree pane, and the contents of folders selected in the Folder Tree in the Folder Contents pane. Since you also have the main window, you actually have three panes with which to work.
Single Interface is Faster and Cost Effective
Quick View Plus provides a single interface to view, copy, search, print, compress, and manage all of the different file types with which it works. The single interface can be integrated into all major browsers, e-mail clients, and operating systems. Available Menu Options
The Quick View Plus window provides several menus, each of which contain numerous options. These menus include File, Edit, View, File-Type, Go(Direction), Window, and Help.
Starting
Quick View Plus can be started from several different places including the Programs menu, Windows Explorer, the Desktop Icon, the Desktop Context menu, the Taskbar, the Find command, and the Windows program.
The program provides you with the capability of viewing different files in the Quick View Plus window. These files include spreadsheet, archive, and word processing. Newer formats like Office 2000, Kodak FlashPix, AutoCad DXF, CorelDraw, Microsoft Project, and Visio are also supported.
Integration Flexibiity
The program provides seamless integration with Internet Explorer 5, Netscape Navigator 4, Outlook 2, Outlook Express 5, and Adobe Acrobat 4. Integration with later releases of these products will probably be built into the next version of Quick View Plus.
Intuitive Navigation
Much of the functionality of Quick View Plus lies in the fact that it's a very intuitive product and can be learned without following the step-by-step instructions in the User's Guide. It uses an Explorer-like interface for faster file review. While it's not mandatory to use the User's Guide, the Guide does provide a useful introduction and reference for getting "up to speed" with the product.
Protection From Macro Viruses
By using Quick View Plus as your default e-mail viewer, you can view the contents of a file and attachment without opening it. This protects your system against macro viruses that are triggered by opening.
Sending Large Files
Because you can view Web files without downloading plug-ins and you can use Quick Compress to create zip files and Attachment Auto-zip to compress bulky e-mail attachments, you can send larger files more efficiently and faster from your computer.
