CD-RW recorders have become really popular over the last year and with prices coming down steadily, acquisition has become very easy for just about anyone with a computer. Most CD-RW recorders come bundled with some sort of software--usually based on CD-RW itself, and who that company has a contract with permitting inclusion of its OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) software. We will take a look at several of these software alternatives to let you know which ones we liked most, and why.
Of the many CD-RW software alternatives available today, we have come up with three that seem to perform best with many different hardware configurations. Our list included Adaptec’s Easy CD Creator, Prassi PrimoCD Plus, and Nero Burning ROM v5.0. So we are off to our test machine which is an AMD Duron 700, with 128 Meg of memory and an internal CD-RW drive. On to the Shootout at the CD Corral!
