NovaBACKUP 6.6 NovaBACKUP 6.6 New and Improved! Douglas Smith
Losing data is bad news to anyone who has spent hours working on an important document. Maybe it's developing that hot new program, or a teacher storing several years' lesson plans. It might just be a fix patch for that hot new game that you purchased several months ago. It just took 3 hours to download because you don’t have a broadband connection, and now it's gone. Does this sound familiar to you at all? Could this be you one day, because you didn’t take the time to back up your system--and all those special files that you need so dearly?
NovaStor Corporation has been in the area of data backup and data loss recovery for years and has just released a new version of its popular Nova Backup 6.6. This new version has combined four of its products into one easy-to-use package.
With this new version of Nova Backup can back up data from disk to disk with the NovaDisk utility, which allows backups to Zip Drives, ORIB Drives, Jazz Drives, or any other type of removable or fixed disk drive. NovaBack, the original tape backup program first introduced by NovaStor, supports tape writing on over 400 different types of drive platforms, including SCSI, EIDE, and QIC machines. Also new to the Nova Backup program is NovaDisk CD/DVD which now allows backup to CD-R, CD-RW, or DVD-RAM on Windows 95 or 98 platforms. Instant Recovery is allows quickly recovery from system crashes or hardware failures.
Also included is Schedule It, which can run backups at scheduled times when resources are less taxed, such as late at night. Virus protection of backups is included, and they can be compressed using STAC LZS.
