Automate 4.0
Would Have, Could Have, Should Have...
Bryce Fox

Here's an example that illustrates just how Automate could very well have saved many valuable hours (and many company dollars).

Not too long ago I did some consulting for a business that had replaced all the computers in its offices with new Dell computer systems. They needed me to provide a backup solution that would be simple enough for the company's accountant to use. We decided to use the backup application that comes with Windows 98, ran into one problem. The Windows Backup utility requires user intervention. In other words, I could use the Windows Task Scheduler to run the backup software but I couldn't tell it which backup job to run. It would stop and wait for human input. I spent extra time doing some research and finally found a little application written specifically to bridge the gap between the scheduler and the backup. I didn't know about AutoMate at the time, but if I had, I could have solved the problem very easily and quickly.
