Street Atlas USA 7.0 now contains a database of over three million points of interest with a filtering feature. Included in the database is information on hotels, restaurants, churches, transportation services, gas stations, pharmacies, stores, malls, schools, colleges, government offices, hospitals and much more. It now has an expanded list of Exit Services which is very helpful for the traveler. Right click on an Exit Services symbol on the Interstate and view a list of services and facilities at that exit.
There is also the ability to edit any map generated. Add symbols to mark locations and notes to identify landmarks or spell out directions. Any map generated in Street Atlas USA can be printed out or imported into any desktop publishing program to be included in party invitations, flyers or any other document. Maps can also be saved directly to a hard drive.
Many software packages are powerful but a chore to learn. Street Atlas USA 7.0 has included several nice tutorials designed to get you up to speed on making full use of its features in a hurry. For you techies, Street Atlas USA can work with many Global Position System (GPS) receivers. Load it on a laptop computer with a GPS receiver, and it updates progress on the map in real time. It even includes a new Back-on-Track GPS feature if you stray from your route. It can also output spoken directions and updates about upcoming exit services.
With an Internet connection, Street Atlas USA 7.0 will import up-to-date information about scheduled road construction, weather forecasts and upcoming events for display on your maps. This can be very helpful when planning any lengthy trip. A variety of point information from the DeLorme Channel is available for display. Once turned on, it automatically updates as the map is panned to different areas.
