Poco 1.2 Poco Mail Small In Size And Big In Features Douglas Smith
In this world of Internet utilities, there always seems to be a unique program that comes along to make a day-to-day task simple. Email is probably the most used resource on the World Wide Web today, and making it easy is the only way to go. Well, Poco Mail 1.2(Poco) is just the program that you've been waiting for. Developed by Slaven Radic of Teqno Software based in Victoria, British Columbia, Poco is making a big step in becoming the future email client of choice. Version 2.0 is presently in alpha testing of some great additions to an already nice little program. Dubbed the small program that delivers, Poco is a small, fast and a very nice-looking product. And deliver it does; the interface is very attractive, allowing for plenty of configuration schemes and colors. You can set the program up to launch at startup or go in offline if you just want to read some of the mail from a previous mail call. Setup is a snap, with a setup wizard that allows you to define your ISP information along with other settings. After you setup any number of multiple accounts, you have the ability to define any type of filtering that you want processed when mail comes in.
Under the options menu, you can define the way Poco looks and feels, along with a nice feature called Fast Message Reading. This allows a message selected from the mail view window to popup instantly when you mouse over its message thread. Poco has an abundance of features right at your fingertips. The interface is very streamlined, with message template support, virus protection support, a Show Only bar that displays messages based on chosen criteria, multi-signatures, mailing lists, viewing of messages on the server, auto backup, viewing of attachments within a message, quick attachment folder for quick access, multi-email and nested mailbox support, multi-address books, and one of the nicest scripted filter systems around, allowing for high level filtering able to natively handle text, CSV files and any other scripted feature desired.
