Today Novell said it is teaming with America Online to integrate the AOL Instant Messenger service with Novell's popular directory software. The agreement was signed at AOL HQ in Virginia and is a major move for Novell. It's also a push into the corporate marketplace for AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), which boasts 43 million users.

The companies both indicated that their alliance represents a strong union of AOL's success in creating simple methods of using the Internet with the sturdiness of Novell technology, which will allow businesses to send encryption-secured messages. Read the rest of the story here.
