Pinnacle Studio 9 Heats Up Home Movie-Making Do It Yourself Or Let SmartMovie Play Spielberg Eric Grevstad
Mon 1/12/04 -- Next month, Pinnacle Systems Inc. will ship the next generation of its family home video editing software. Pinnacle Studio 9 supports Intel's Pentium 4 processors' Hyper-Threading Technology, adds one-touch controls for improving old or damaged video, and introduces powerful new creative options as well as automatic editing capabilities.
The SmartMovie creator lets users simply select raw video footage, add a favorite song for a soundtrack, and choose an editing style, then let the software take over, creating a professional-looking movie complete with titles, transitions, and special effects synchronized to the beat and duration of the music. More sophisticated audio and video tools range from surround-sound placement of audio elements to editing and exporting of 16:9 video for wide-screen playback.
Studio 9 also enhances video and sound with automatic color correction; image stabilization of shaky footage; video noise- and snow-removal tools for older analog tapes; and background-noise reduction tools. The software will be available separately for $99 or as part of several bundled solutions with analog and digital video capture hardware.
