ArcSoft Program Turns Shaky Camcorder Footage into Smooth Video Removes Jolts and Jitters Eric Grevstad
Mon 1/5/04 -- Hollywood directors have the Steadicam to smooth their tracking shots, but camcorder users' accidental hand movements, jolts, or flutters can make home video footage look like earthquake coverage. ArcSoft says its ArcSoft Video Stabilizer software takes the shakes out of digital video for $80.
Shipping at the end of this month, the program offers a simple interface with side-by-side previews of original and stabilized scenes selected from a timeline, including the option to stabilize whole or partial segments of video. Fast processing promises quick export of improved, smoother video files.
